The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is a State Government Department that owns, manages and regulates the arterial road network, and delivers road safety initiatives. DTP is responsible for maintaining and improving Victoria's 22km+ of arterial roads, 5k+ bridges and culverts. DTP plans and operates transport in a way that matches the people and products that travel on it, focusing on the destination, rather than which mode we use.
Victoria's Big Build
Victoria's Big Build is overseen by the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) and the Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA). MTIA and SRLA work closely with the Department of Transport and Planning in planning, delivery and construction of major transport projects.
